Community Partners feels a deep debt of gratitude to Albert Rodriguez for his leadership and commitment. It was his concern about the challenges facing start-up charities, and his keen founding vision, that led to the establishment of Community Partners in the early 1990's. Since then, he has served as a valuable member of our board of directors. Our staff and board will greatly miss him.
To honor Al's memory and civic legacy, Community Partners has created an annual award which will serve tribute to the core values Al lived by in his professional and volunteer life. Beginning this December, Community Partners will annually recognize one outstanding social entrepreneur leading a project under Community Partners' sponsorship. The award will keep alive Community Partners' -- and Al's -- spirited dedication to ethical integrity, public accountability and fiscal prudence in charitable enterprise.
